Category Archives: Tool

I use consumer packaging as a tool to produce an iteration of work. The use of the package as a tool brings about distinctive pathways, which initiates a series of changes in form, as well as changes in the reception of the object. The physical object of the package can be used as a stencil to trace its form. The label of the package is a prompt for a drawing, the drawings can in turn be used as a printmaking plates. Once the plates become exhausted from use they become an art object. I am interested in the complete lifecycle of an object, as it goes from everyday object to art object.
