Category Archives: Container as Memory

A container is a vessel just as our bodies are vessels; both hold content and memory within a specific structure. I am interested in the influence that everyday images and objects have on the construction of memory, and how they in turn inform a person’s identity. Memory is highly malleable and largely constructed by external influences. Since we are constantly being bombarded with information, memories can be supplanted by what we think we know with misinformation. Our identity, like our memory is a collage of events experienced directly and secondary information sources.
